Weddings have been performed at Barbazzano for many hundreds of years. Medieval documents record the existence on the property of a church, Santa Maria di Barbazzano, which was already well established by the Twelfth Century and likely functioned into the Nineteenth Century. Relics of this heritage, a beautifully carved stone cross and a corner of the original altar, were uncovered during restoration.
