Each evening of this festival is dedicated to the traditional flavors of Arezzo, as local restaurants and pizzerias offer tastings of their specialties, with dancing later in the evening to local bands. This popular pasta festival is held outside Cortona and features pasta creations from many area restaurants, followed by dancing to local orchestras. For more information, click here.

Palio di Siena
July 2 and August 16
One of the most well-known events held every year in Siena's main square, the palio is more than a horse race -- it's an experience you will never forget. Click here for more information.

Calcio Storico, Piazza Santa Croce, Florence
Semifinals Saturday, June 9 and Sunday, June 10
Final Tuesday, June 26, 5:00 pm
A replaying of the original Renaissance version of football. The 4 teams play to win a 'Palio' and a white heifer. Each team represents a zone of the city. This is a no rules game and everything is allowed, there is a large feast in the winning part of the city after the game. Click here for more information.

Pecorino Festival and "Cacio al Fuso," Pienza
Sunday, September 2
Pienza makes among the best pecorino in Italy and a wide range of excellent cheeses is available to be tasted and bought during this fair. The Cacio al Fuso is a cheese rolling competition. Cacio is the original Tuscan word for pecorino and the fuso or spindle is the target of the game. Click here for more information.
